IELTS™ at IH Palermo

IELTS™ is the world’s proven English test. Over 1.4 million candidates take the test each year to start their journeys into international education and employment. IELTS™ is recognised by more than 6000 institutions in over 135 countries around the world.

IH Palermo now offers preparation for students wishing to sit the IELTS™ Academic exam. The course aims to take students from a high B2 level (IELTS™ band 5) to a C1 level (IELTS™ band 6.5/7).

Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking are systematically and progressively developed and practised during the course, along with in-depth exam training. The course also aims to revise key areas of grammar and extend lexical range with a high focus on word building.

During the course, students also experience simulations of all 4 papers in exam conditions. This allows students to check their progress in the four skills and to familiarise themselves with the format and timing of the exam.

Students taking the IELTS™ preparation course will need to devote time both in and out of the classroom to study. They can expect a reasonable amount of homework. Written compositions are regularly set by and assessed by the teacher.

IELTS™ and PSP

A good knowledge of the IELTS™ exam is key in order to pass with a good score. Our PSP preparation will concentrate on the development of the skills that you need the most for the exam. – listening, reading, writing and speaking. In the PSP, you will learn how to best tackle the different sections of the exam. You will receive precious feedback and special advice on all aspects of the exam.

All the preparation will be supervised and guided by a qualified tutor. You must complete at least 20 hours and your work will be checked.
