Typical Social Programme

International House students are welcome to take part in our social activities.

The aim of the social programme is to ensure that students have every opportunity to practise the language, get a better understanding of Italian culture and at the same time make friends and have fun.

Sicily and the city of Palermo have a lot to offer: world-famous Sicilian wine and cuisine, concerts, plays, beaches and natural resorts, museums, exhibitions and more.

The programme is organised weekly by our Italian course co-ordinator together with the teaching staff so that any linguistic problems are considered.



Some of the regular activities IH Palermo arranges:

  • Italian cinema
  • Parties
  • Concerts
  • Opera
  • International evenings
  • Wine tasting
  • Food tasting
  • Guided trips at weekends (boat journeys, days on the beach, tours of Sicily, etc.)
  • Cookery lessons


The programme is given to each student at the beginning of each month. Some activities are totally free of charge and some might have an extra cost which is specified on the programme.

Sicilians are warm, colorful people, it is easy to make friends and fall headlong into our relaxed and worry-free lifestyle.
