The TOEFL iBT (Test Of English as a Foreign Language internet Based Test) is a requirement for admission into colleges and universities where instruction is in English. Many government, licensing, and certification agencies, and exchange and scholarship programs also use TOEFL scores to evaluate the English of those whose native language is not English.
